RE: WHIPPLE

The idea of the Turn2 motor mount is to control engine
movement and to add greater durability to the lower front motor mount.
The lower front mount is the one responsible for controlling engine
movement under acceleration. The stock unit is a soft rubber unit
filled with some type of fluid. The stock setup is used to control
engine vibration, but it allows the engine to travel a great deal under
initial acceleration. The stock unit also is prone to breaking (I know
this from personal experience). The Turn2 motor mount reduces engine
movement and keeps the engine's weight over the front wheels better
under acceleration, thus allowing better traction off the line. This
motor mount is ideal if you are into racing your VW. The only downside
to the motor mount is that there is a slight increase in chassis
vibration due to the engine, but this is so minor that is doesn't
present a problem during relaxed driving.
