hey,
pay an independent VW mechanic to run the OBD-II diagnostics tool on the
vehicle before you purchase it to see what the exact problem comes up as. Base
your decision upon the problem found. The 'check engine light' comes on after
any one of the hundreds of functions in your car fails. Could be anything from
a loose gas cap to oxygen sensors......could be ANYTHING! Get it checked
first!
