Seats

I have a 97 GLX that I am going to replace the front seats in;

I have a question, are ALL VW seats throughout the years, compatible as
far as the seat slider rails are concerned?

If not, which year of VW's  seat sliders ARE compatible with the A3's?

My thought here is to take some of my old A1 seats that i no longer use,
salvage the mounting bases, and mount after market seats to
them..........using them in my A3!!!!!!
