20,000 Mile Service

Could some one post what they have had done or recommend having done
for their 20,000 mile service.   This is for a 1997 GT (NOT VR6).
This is not going to be done at a VW dealer, but a very good
independent mechanic.   Thanks a lot.
ps - don't ask about why the dealer is not doing it, even with it
being free my parents don't want them to do it.
