Re: ribbed belt



    One word of wisdom is in the belt tensioner itself.  You will see three 
bolts that hold the tensioner itself on.  What you should do is that off one 
of those bolts, and thread it in to the top of the tensioner.  There is a 
threaded spot where it looks like something should be, but isn't.  That will 
release the tension on the belt, allowing it to be taken off, and then when 
the new belt is back on, take the bolt out.  And you'll be set!
    I've gotten pretty proficient at it, I am a 5 time alternator installing 
veteran...
