 Ack!  The stock speakers are cheesier than THE least expensive aftermarket
 stuff you can buy.  You can get a perfectly decent set of inexpensive
 speakers for about $30 that will kick ass all over the stockers.... as
 long as you keep your wallet in check while in the store, this shouldn't
 bankrupt you!

Alrighty.  Any recommendations then Kevin?  Anyone?  If I were to add an amp 
etc.  I would go with MB Quart or Boston Acoustics, but I have no idea what 
type of "cheap" speakers would be best.  So whose replaced their speakers 
without running an amp?  My Sony MDXC-7900 is rated at 40W x 4 max. power, 
which is pretty weak.  TIA.
