cool article in mag...

VR6'ers,
I was reading an issue of 'Accelerate', a small, free magazine/pamphlet
about modified cars. There was an article about a guy with a '95 Jetta GLX
VR6 that had just rotated his wheels and had forgotten to torque down his
left front wheel. He said that the everything was going fine and suddenly
the car started to get a strange shimmy, which got more noticeable the
longer he drove. He then said that it started to pull one way and then back
the other way. He headed for the exit ramp and when he reached it, his
wheel FELL OFF! The car then drove into the guard rail and kept sliding
halfway down the exit ramp. The article had some grainy pictures that
showed the car, it was pretty messed up, but interesting to look at (half of
the brake rotor seemed to be missing).

Soooo, if you just rotated your tires and start to get a strange shimmy,
STOP and check to make sure your wheels are on tight!
