Re: Seat Problems

Do any of you guys own a tool box? Have you ever opened the hood of
your car for any reason other than to show someone your neat red plug
wires? Take some initiative here, man! The dealer will blow the
tiniest little things out of proportion. Sorry, I just had to vent a
little bit. Here is the good content...

The first thing you need to check is the seat rail. Push the seat all
the way forward, and pop off the black plastic cover on the inside
rail. Use even force, so as not to break it. If you see a little white
piece of plastic plastic in the rail, this is your problem. You need to
get that piece back on the seat guide. It may be possible to do this
with out taking the seat off, it may not, good luck. If you checked the
seat track, and found no plastic in the rail, then try this. There are
two hex bolts located near the pivot point on each side of the seat.
These are sometimes loose from the factory. Tighten them. It should
make the seat feel much more solid.

Here is a piece of advice. If you don't want your car to rattle, about
every 6 months, tighten every nut and bolt you can find. All the
phillips head screws in the dash, the torx bolts that hold the dash to
the car, all the bolts on the seats etc... It will really improve the
overall quality to the ride(and I don't mean bumps and handling). It
has worked for me.
