Re: Trade in value of GLX

I can't relate any stories on a GLX but I will give you my experience with
'low end' Audi's.

I bought a 1988 5000s Quattro that listed for approx. $30,000. I paid
something like $27k since it had been sitting on the lot for awhile. I'll
say this was 'low end' because it was the non-turbo model and it also had
cloth seating.

In 1990 I traded it in on a new Corrado since I had just gotten married and
didn't need a sedan since my wife had one. I foolishly believed what the
dealer said about depreciation, resale and the fact that the 'low end' Audi
wasn't very popular (sound familiar?). He gave me $10k for the car. (I did
say foolish, right?)

Well, driving by the dealer one week later I spied my Audi in the used car
lot. Hmmm, I wonder how much they are asking for it? (I did say foolish,
right?)

        $14,900 !!! THEY HADN'T EVEN WASHED IT!!

I learned a BIG lesson there. Hope my experience helps you in some way.

Garret
1990 Corrado, still running strong.
