The best solution is to get a digital camera. They generally come with the
software to convert to jpg,bmp,etc...And the images come out very good. And
they are very small files. Initially its an investment, but in the long
run, its worth it. Plus you don't need to scan anything, risking loss of
photo quality. I think the cameras can start @ $200.

This is just my 2 cents. And no I'm not a salesman
