In my 98 GLX, I have the Bose Audio system prewired with 8-Pin round DIN connector
and two RCA cables in the trunk I suggest you check out the Precision Interface
Electronics application chart at: http://www.pie.net/oemappl.htm#vw to find the
right changer and interface for your situation.
By the way, I have a 95 Jetta GLX for sale with a CD Changer in it. The car has
the Premium Audio System and a 13pin round DIN connector in the trunk. The CD
Changer is a VW VCD550 Changer which has Clarion identification on it. The Model
No. is 1 HM 035111. After this weekend, I will consider selling the Changer as a
seperate piece if I don't sell the car at an asking price of $13,500. I am
concluding that all these expensive extras are not adding substantially to the
resale value. I should mention that the I found the changer skips if you mount it
over the back wheel. I was only able to eliminate skipping by mounting it in the
center of the trunk adjacent to the back of the rear seat.
