Trunk Release on 98 GLX

Today I went to open the trunk to my 98 (<2000 miles) and to my dismay it
would not work from the remote...  I tried the release button inside the
car... no go...  I try my key... no go...  (I do hear a clicking but no
opening...)
Before you ask, I have already made sure there is nothing stuck in the
mechanism (i.e bag, clothing...) - anyone have a similar problem, is there
an easy fix, or should I head back to my dealer for Warranty work?  (guess
they'd at least give me another loaner car to torture...)
