The way to make your playstation play that game without modding the ROM 
is to use the swapping tecnique.
The exact procedure depends on the playstation version so I'll let you
dig that up.
I fear you have a bigger problem though:
Your UK game is likely formatted for PAL.
I really dont know what will happen when you send a PAL signal to an
NTSC TV.
