upgrading Garrett chip

For the past 6 months I've had Garrett's 259aa02b.pot EPROM and have been
very happy with it. I guess this chip is commonly called the '02b' and
it's for my type 'AA' ECU. Garrett has an updated '08' version for my
application 'with improved power from 3000-6500rpm'.
Has anyone out there made a similar Garrett chip upgrade, and if so is
there a butt-dyno difference? I know the upgrade is only $20 but I'd
like some imput.
