Bike Racks

Hey guys, I'm going through a little dilemma here.  I happen to be a
frequent biker, and have been using a trunk rack for hauling my bike around
town.  I have tried to be careful when putting and taking my bike off the
rack.  But I have started noticing that the bike rack is starting to leave
scratches and chips on my bumper and trunk.  I decide to look for a roof
rack that would fit on my 98 GLX.  I decided to stop by a popular sport
store (REI), to see if they had any racks in stock for the car.
Surprisingly they said that they did not carry roof rack in the store for
the Jetta because VW had some kind of deal with the makers of the roof rack.
They told me that they would try to special order it, but the best option
would be to purchase one from the dealer.  Yikes! I have learned my lesson
about buying after-market products (CD Player) from the dealer.  Is this
true?  If it is, does anyone want to sell me a used roof rack?  If so Please
email me! I'm getting desperate, I can't take anymore scratches on my trunk.
