stumbling & stalling

Up until recently my '95glx has been running perfectly with no probs.
It has developed what I call a stumble either on take off from first
gear or right after you shift into any other gear.  This does not happen
everytime but it does happen more and more frequently.  It feels as 
if the car just stalls for a second and then recovers.  It hasn't died
out but it comes very close.

Background:  The glx has ~44k and was last serviced at the dealer for
its 30k (~38k) service.  All wiring and vacuum hoses look fine.  The idle
is smooth except for a blip every so often (like it has a cam in it).  The
vr6 is bone stock.  My personal opinion is that it might be the spark
plugs, plug wires, cap or rotor (which I though the 30k service paid for
@ $320).  Any help would be appreciated.
