More Jetta GLX CD changer questions

Hi y'all,

I just joined this list after purchasing a '98 Jetta GLX (black/black
leather).
It's wonderful, put 800 miles on it the first day... 8-)

Anyway, I read the archives and saw a lot of talk about the Jetta and
the
CD changer, etc.

I've found on NetMarket (www.netmarket.com) that the Panasonic CD
changers are, well, lots cheaper than Crutchfield:

PANASONIC CXDP801 $195.00
8 Disc Changer

PANASONIC CXDP601 $207.00
6 CD Add-On Car Changer

(The eight is cheaper than the six? uh, okay!)

Anyway, I know there is a special cable needed (VWPAN something), and
I'm wondering where I should pick that up. NetMarket doesn't have a lot
of materials on adapters and such, and there isn't anything mentioned
on Crutchfield's site. Is it something I can just pick up at Circuit
City, or does it need to be ordered from a specialty place?

I'm also curious about the actual install procedure, do I need to drill
or not?
Never done this stuff before, heck never owned a 'real' car before.

I realize these questions come up a lot, so I thought I'd just share the
good
prices above since they seemed a lot better than Crutchfield's prices
(269.95 for both the six and the eight). If you don't want to spam the
list
with info that may have gone by before you can just email be the answers
directly. (I looked at the archives back until may or so, and then uh,
started wishing there was a search page...)

Thanks in advance,

-Matt
