Check with Timmons VW in Long Beach CA...or for that matter you're local
delear.  Ask about the Passat cup holder.  It mounts to the passanger
side tranny tunnel (think of an American V8) and folds up when not in
use.  Folded up it sort of looks like a hard shell sunglasses case. 
When unfolded, it has space for two med. sized drinks....no, 711
Supertankers won't fit :-) The only drawback is that it intrudes into
the passangers foot/leg space when in use.
