Re: Jetta GLX Touring Car

The car in question is a 97 GLX that a guy owns who I believe works for
TSW.
It has a Sebring muffler with their 23 tuning tips, a Wings West Super
Touring Wing and Air Dam, Toyo tires 225's on 17 inch wheels I believe,
AVO coilovers, Autopower 6 point roll cage, Momo corse racing seats, no
back seats, and a Momo steering wheel.
We talked to the guys at the Toyo booth, where the car was displayed,
and they said that the car only had that wheel tire combo for the show,
that the tires rubbed too much under normal driving but it looked damn
good in Vegas.
The thing that looked lame about the air dam was that it is much lower
and deeper than the stock air dam and it mounts by gluing it to the
bumper just below the fog lights/ side marker lights, which is okay, as
long as you aren't hitting anything. What was lame was that when you
looked into the large grill opening that the air dam has, about half way
down from the top, you can see where the stock air dam is. It was still
on the car. Even removing it you would see the stock bumper. It
reminded me of a car show a couple of years ago where a guy had put pedal
covers on his car, over the stock rubber pedal covers. Same idea,
different area of the car.
