Gas/Oil/Steering/Suspension

New GLX owner interested in brand and grade of gasoline others are using.
Also, oil and viscosity.

My last car was a 89 German Jetta. I also own a 97 Passat TDI. Compared to
these, my 97 GLX has very light steering (a little too light for my taste),
and very soft suspension. Even crossing "botts dots" in lane changes upsets
the steering a bit. My questions for the group are, does anyone else share
this observation? And, for those that have modified their suspensions, what
were the effects, if any, on the steering sensitivity.

By the way, I guess I'm a "senior" in this group, age 48.
