If I'm not mistaken, what you are smelling is the anti-rust protectant that is put on the car before it is shipped (literally) from Mexico. I smelled it on mine as well as other Jettas that I test drove. Bri By the way, Welcome to the 'owners' side of GLX admirers. Enjoy!
