the first thousand miles

well i've now rolled over four digits.
yep, i've driven over a thousand miles.
i've got to say one thing- i LOVE this car! it's been said before
that the Jetta is the 'poor mans BMW'. well, if i had wanted a 
damn BMW i would have bought one. the fact of the matter is 
that this is my dream car. i fell in love with the Jetta the first time
i drove my best freind's 88 A2 GL. these cars are sooo much 
fun to drive!

one thousand miles and nothing wrong so far. sure, there are 
improvements that can be made- i'd like to have more low end
power (garret chip); i'd like a throatier sound (exhaust or airbox
mod)- but what fun would it be if everything was already done?

i may never see three digits on my odometer again, but i've 
got a feeling that one day i'll be seeing five. and all those years
will be filled with fun driving- and a feeling i get from no other 
car on the road.
and that's what makes me proud to be a VW owner.

(ps by this time next week i'll have DOUBLE the miles i have
now- my first roadtrip starts tommorow- Mardi Gras time :)
