I'm not surpised. Your post only went out at ~01:30 this morning; give
it time. Then again, maybe the people on the SE-R list have enough
class not to take your bait. I kinda doubt it though. <g>

Yes, you're right you can usually tell a "performance" echaust by it's
sound, but you made no mention how those SE-Rs sounded, you only said
"Wide tipped mufflers and all." I do not think you can tell the
diameter of someone's exhaust outlet by ear.

OK, how big was it? Single or dual? <g>

No you misunderstood me. The our cars (with stock chips) will not quite
reach an honest 130 *because* of the speed limiter. The party is over
at 127-129 with the stock chip. Due to speedometer error you might
*think* you're doing "130+ MPH", but you're not.

That's quite unnecessary. I have a G-chip equipped 1997 GTI-VR6 which
do an *honest* 140+. <g>

I'm not being anal. You reported shifting out of first at 6500. You
*will* be faster if you make that shift at 5800-6000. Yes, I know how
easy it is to exceed 6000, I hit my stock chip's rev limiter a number of
times in first. But the fact remains that doing so is
counter-productive.

Gee where have I heard that before? I know! That's what all the
spammers say! It vaguely reminds me of the "I was just following
orders" defense against war crimes <g>.

Look, I don't mind you (or anyone else) posting "conquest" stories here;
lots of people do that, and I actually enjoy reading them. But if you
must troll the SE-R (or any other model-specific list) please do *not*
include our list address in your message headers. There are two ways to
do that:

* You can send out two seperate messages containing the same body, one
addressed to us and one to "them". This is not very much work if you
copy and paste.

* If your mailer supports it, you can use the "blind copy" to hide other
recipent's addresses.
