With proper care and maintenance, mine have held up pretty well (although   
still young-'97). The leather, while relatively soft, sits on hard seats,   
so I do believe they would last a lot longer than those plush ones you   
find in Buicks.

Here is another question for you GLX owners. When I bought
my Jetta GLS it had frabric seats. So, as an after market
option, I had leather put on. I have been really happy with
the after market leather. My question is, how do you guys
like the leather that comes from the factory? Does it fit
better? Is it durable and thick?
