RE: sad day, maybe..

A '64 would be a 356 I assume. Depending on where you are, and your
lifestyle/automotive needs, it might not be the best choice for a daily
driver (esp. if you're in an area where rust is a problem). I tried various
schemes on how to justify a 911 to my wife, but the lack of 4 doors and
storage space (along with maintenance costs) kind of nixed that idea.

Check out http://www.porschefans.com for a Porsche mailing list/archives,
etc. Also, get a number for a local Porsche club and talk to people in the
club (not sure how much research you've done). If you have a friend/mechanic
who is familiar with the car, bring them along to provide some sense when
"... you have fallen under the seductive spell of your dream car and your
normally razor-sharp intellect has been reduced to the mushy consistency of
a slightly over-ripe melon." (British car checklist --
ftp://ftp.team.net/sol/chklist.txt).
Good luck, sounds like a sweet car though.
