Re: Autotech Q-Chip

John,
You wrote: Ok, what about gas milage, did you notice a big hit?

Actually, gas mileage improves because the chip optimizes the fuel-air
mixture. I got 2mpg gains on both city and hwy driving. City went from
17 to 19 and Hwy went from 24 to 26.

You wrote:How about the little information/trip computer, does that
still function?

Yeah, the MFA (trip computer) still works; it was unaffected.

You wrote:Do you know if it affects the OBDII stuff at all, ie, will
techs still be able to read codes from it ok?

It doesn't affect OBDII. It was designed for it.

You wrote: Would you install the chip prior to the 24/24k warranty
expires,do you think VW would make a fuss over it should they discover
it was installed prior to the warranty expiring?

Don't forget your 100k/10yr. warranty too. Yes -- the dealer will
give you $h!t for changing the chip. No -- they don't have a legal
right to void either your bumper-bumper or powertrain warranty. Just
give them $h!t back. Worse comes to worse, just pop the orig. chip back
in and pretend you never did anything.

P.S. Don't forget to get your ECU number first before calling to order.
The #'s on the bottom of the ECU when you open up your rain gutter.
