News : Honda to Continue Type R Line In Europe

You may question the significance on this list, but read on. This is
relevant, and I wish VW would do something similar.
(Atleast in the european market) a Civic Type R hatchback is being readied
with 1.6L VTEC producting 185bhp. The look is the same as the Integra Type
R. Should this car come to the US it could be serious competition for the
GTI in the new car market.
Here's hoping that VW will release the Polo line stateside once the new
Golf and Beetle are to market. Imagine a 20V 1.8 Turbos in a limited run
series of Driver's Edition Polo GTIs or a Polo based Scirocco (providing
there is a Corrado in the Golf Line). What a rivalry they could have.
Before you go counting coupes out of the market, consider that BMW and MB
are both prepping hardtop versions of the Z3 and SLK. Hatchback coupes will
make a return, and when they do, a line of VW coupes like GTIs, Sciroccos
and Corrados would be cool.
