I just finished installing a Panasonic changer like you described.  The
GLX came with either a Clarion or a Panasonic head unit.  The Clarion
plugs right in at the trunk. (pre wired) My friend installed the Clarion
12 disc changer.  It powers up but the head unit does not see it.  Any
ideas? 

My car has the Panasonic unit.  I cut off the male end on the Panasonic
changer cable and soldered on a female end.  Still did not work!  I
talked with the boys at PIE who makes adapters for most cars.  I bought
his adapter that plugs into the head unit.  Still did not work!  I
called my now close friend back at PIE.  He said it should work.  I
returned the Changer for another one and it works fine.
