Car and Driver reported a 6.9 sec 0 to 60 in January 1994 and March 1997 for
a Jetta GLX. In September 1994 the reported a 6.7 sec time for a GTI and a
6.6 sec later in the year. In June 1997, Road and Track reported a 7.3 sec
time. Performance Car (November 1996) reported a 0 to 60 time of 6.7 secs
for a Vento VR6 (European version).
