Hi Jeff. I don't know about calipers, but I painted the VR6 dohc lettering
on the engine cover with testors red paint pen. Worked great and has held up 
so far (2 years). With time it is obviously more grimy than it used to be and
lost some of its sheen, but no peeling cracking etc.

On a related note, what is a good product to remove incrusted grime in the
engine compartment? I've tried to use simple green and other products but I
can't say they do a good job.
