Hey Mark,
The first step in regrinding a cam to weld new material onto the lobes.
Then they are reground to the new profile. I'm not an authority on this
kind of stuff, but I don't know if I'd trust cams made like this for long
term use. In fact, wasn't somebody recently saying that they had a worn out
lobe on one?

PS- yeah, someone did, maybe - I copied this from the GTI archives:

"I'm posting this as a favour to a friend. He had 268 Schrick cams
installed about 6000 miles ago. He also installed a port and polished head
from GTA in Montreal. The car started ticking just recently. He took the
car to the dealer and they told him that an exhaust lobe on one of the cams
was worn out. He phoned Ron's Parts and they told him it was probably the
head work that caused this. They said they would send him a new one.
Anyone have any ideas why this would happen."

Are Schricks regrinds or are they made from billet?
