Re: Celtics had a growth spurt

C'mon Dan. Two of those offensive fouls were complete crap and the 3rd was iffy at best. Word has gotten around the league that the refs hate Paul and so defenders flop all night on him. They know the refs are able and willing to whistle Paul for any infraction. As I watched the horrible calls, I couldn't help but wonder.... when is the last time Kobe, Vince, Tracy, Allen, Tim, Shaq, Kevin, Jason, Stephon, or Gary had 3 offensive fouls called on them in one game? I doubt it's ever happened. I'd like to know what Paul did to these guys that was so horrible that he is on the death list for life now. I mean, Kobe can freakin RAPE someone!!!!! (Ok, fine, allegedly), and he somehow stays on the refs good side. You gonna tell me Paul did something worse than that?

And all those players I mentioned do the same things as Paul. They all give the little nudges to free up space or a little hook here or there. It's become part of the game, even if the rulebook says you can't do it. The problem I have is that only Paul gets whistled for it out of all the upper echelon players in the league. Have you seen Payton play? He could start a coat hanger factory with all the hooks he uses.

I just really want to know what Paul did. Did he have an affair with one of the refs wives? Slash one of their tires after a game?Burn one of their houses down? Kidnap one of their children? What?!? What could he have possible done so that things have gotten to the point that he gets ZERO respect? What?

It's clear PP is showing us more of what he can't do than can do. 3
offensive fouls in a close game tells a lot. He's over playing his ability.
The last foul just pushing off the defender in crunch time was way too
obvious. As much as I like him he doesn't look like a team player. It's all
about Paul so far. His 1st shot coming back off of 4 fouls and a lengthy
bench stay was a 3, yeah he made it but it was the 1st time he touched the
ball and didn't look for another option.

The Toronto game will tell us more about Atkins and Hunter. If these 2 guys
continue to impress, it will be a successful season and DA will have more
maneuvering room.
