Whooo: Pierce Mutilated, Mauled, Massacred By Callahan; Ricky Davis Ain't So Hot Either

In a Premium Article in the Boston Herald, intrepid columnist and host of the
No. 1 rated Morning Show in Boston Radio (even beating Stern): Gerry Callahan
disembowels Paul Pierce.

Among the gleeful highlights:

- "There were drunks playing pop-a-shot who were more focused and
serious than were Pierce and Davis at the end of the latest loss."
(The most incriminating comment by the seething Callahan, evidently
in a bad mood, as John Dennis and him have spent the last two days talking
about gay marriages.)

- Pierce laughing with Cav players as his shot selection collapsed in the 4th
quarter of the game.

- Pierce goofing around with the "Moondog". (Ray's comment: Why is
Cleveland's mascot known as the Moondog? Shouldn't it be the "Moon-Cav"?)

- A better chance to win in Chicago tonight, since their mascot isn't as tough as the
Cleveland mascot (That's a good line by the ascerbic one).

- Ricky Davis and his pit bulls see Pierce and himself being the new Jordan and
Pippen; meanwhile since the trade occurred, the Celtics are 11 - 18.
"But they're having fun" says Callahan.

- Ainge made a big miscalculation by trading away the leadership of Eric
Williams (sounds like Good Egg - see I said Good Egg) who acted as
a stabilizing force; Ainge thought he could get by for this season
without one, but Pierce apparently needs a chaperone.

- "It does not seem like too much to ask of a guy who has four years
and more than $60 million remaining on his Celtics contract, Could you
refrain from playing with the furry little mascots, Paul, until, after we win
the game?"

- Ainger made a mistake bringing in Ricky Davis, as he's been a bad influence
on Pierce: "Any hope that Pierce would stay focused and thrive in post Antoine
era was lost."

But some conciliatory material:

- Ainge was brought here to blow things up and rebuild and he's doing that,
"and for the most part it's too early to pass judgement...."

- Ainge doesn't care about this season. "He is not interested in sneaking
into the playoffs as the eighth seed..."
