A big hopeful "maybe" is the best you, or anyone, can even say.
What if
Walker got injured? What if you had held onto him and he opted
out to be
spiteful for not getting his extension and you got nothing at all.
(Doubtful, but possible.)
No one wanted Walker until he appealed to Cuban directly over the
summer.
No one. To wait two years and hope you got more for him, while
listening to
him whine everyday because he was only getting million$ this year
and next
year, but not the following 6 years, is ludicrous. To have a
player, any
player, come out and say that the style of play was going to be
how he
wanted and not move him would be foolish.
You seem to believe that Walker the "cap space" has higher
potential value
then Walker the "player". That is a heck of a legacy isn't it.
Some praise
for keeping him.
The team is better off without him under the current
circumstances. IMO.
Let's see if Dallas is coming to the same conclusion. His name is
being
tossed around it seems.
I'll take a LaFrantz/Welsh/#1/? (Mills) in the hand Vs. such a big
maybe in
two years. But I'm not a gambler. Risk taker yes, gambler no.

resigned so we would have lost him for nothing) and Kedrick, a
black eye of
Wallace's and reason enough to take his keys away, in return for
Davis,
Mihm
(a restricted FA) and Stewart. Three guys who are all tradable
on their
own
for three that were not tradable on their own. Celtics win this
big long
term.
Vin Baker. Not Danny's making, but is his problem. Until this
issue is
put
to rest this team has a major handicap.
As long as the second, third and fifth highest paid players on a
15 man
roster are not on the court because of medical issues a NBA team
is not
going to compete. Period.
I am sure that THE BIG PICTURE includes having those players or
their
replacements being off IR. I am waiting for the audition as
well. So far
he has moved in the right direction, regardless of what "the
class clown
formally known as a basketball player" Barkley thinks.
