Re: And the answer is:

>>>First, I don't think Jiri did that bad at the point. It was actually nice
having a point guard who could hit the shot if his guy dropped off of him. I
think Carroll tryed to keep the hot guy on the floor so he went with Jiri.
The
problem with the lineup wasn't Jiri, it was Walter but that has been heavily
documented. <<<<<

Well, there is obviously more than one problem with this team right now,
however, Jiri looked totally lost at the point.
Maybe it was just nerves, but he couldn't even run the plays.
I've always felt that Jiri at the point was just wishful thinking.
I've more than once seen references to his great passing, and I've asked
before for an example of that but no one has been able to give me one. He's only
averaging 2.3 assists a game. Ricky Davis has more than that. His assist to
turnover ratio isn't anything to write home about either.
People want him on the floor. Perfectly understandable. But throwing him in
at the point, a position he isn't capable of at this time, isn't doing him
any favors.
He's a 2/3. Maybe he can handle some point every now and then for a few
minutes in a pinch.

>>>>But the main point I want to make today is that
Blount got to have the worst hands of any starting center or maybe of any
center ever played. I don't know if it is hand-eye coordination or what but
the
ball is constantly hitting him in the chest.<<<<<

And I've been saying this forever. Tommy is always trying to make excuses
for him, but I see centers catch tougher passes than what Blount has been
fumbling every single night.
When a ball hits you in the hands and you can't hold onto it, there's
something wrong.

Chris Mihm has to do a better job of staying away from the silly fouls. He
already suffers from the big white center syndrome, which is proven to be worth
at least two fouls a game on clean blocks.
He can't afford the little rinky dink ones out on the perimeter.
