LOL; is that what your "inside" sources at the Globe are telling you?
A press boycott? Not that we'd miss most of them.
Gotta give Shira lots of props., though, for her continued, insightful
exploration, of the mind that was once Vin Baker.
Thinking back over the more than a year since he joined the team,
Shira has provided several interesting stories about Vin's problems and
his father's, fiery, pulpit sermons and his agent/shill/trainer, who
was suing him for reneging on a commission promised, if he could get
Vin traded to Boston. Only Shira, it seems, has an Amtrack pass.
But, alas, you are looking to bury Ainge, not resurrect Shira Springer
or resuscitate Vin Baker.
It's hard to know what Ainge is thinking, with both sides of his
mouth moving so rapidly, with his patented, unsynchronized utterances,
but, one thing I do know, there are less and less point guard options,
of any kind, each and every day and he should be just as serious about
giving O'Brien 48 minutes of point guard options, as in forcing Jimmy
to play Banks.
Marcus, playing 20-25 minutes a game should be enough. Sitting and
watching a real, veteran point guard, for 20 minutes and playing
against him in practice, might be better than being forced through his
mistakes, being overplayed, with a jeering crowd and the possibility of
the rookie wall, just when the season gets competitive.
I'll get over Kenny Anderson's signing with Indiana, but if this
season and much of the good morale this team has acquired over the last
two years, goes down the toilet, because O'Brien feels the need to play
Tony Delk big minutes at point guard, with the resultant return to the
over reliance on Antoine Walker, as chief distributor and the isolation
of Pierce on the left wing, running the gauntlet through three
defenders, because our only other offensive options are the point guard
at the arc and the off forward in the corner, I'll personally hold
Ainge accountable and perhaps even have grounds for suit, to cover
the costs of the sanitarium.
