Re: Walker

NBA Won't Punish Walker for Fan Argument

Celtics forward Antoine Walker avoided punishment by the NBA for confronting
a fan during the team's Game 3 loss to New Jersey.

"The information in our investigation offered no conclusive evidence that
Antoine warrants any disciplinary action," league spokesman Tim Frank said
Monday.

Late in Friday night's 94-76 loss to the Nets in Boston, Walker went after
the fan behind the Celtics' bench. Walker, who said the man had heckled him
for years, had to be restrained by teammates and security personnel.

A 43-year-old man filed a police report in which he claimed Walker poked him
in the face several times, Boston police spokesman John Boyle said Sunday.
The report has been referred to detectives for further investigation.

The Celtics have said they will revoke the fan's season tickets. After the
NBA said Walker wouldn't be disciplined, Celtics spokesman Bill Bonsiewicz
said Monday "we're going to close the books on this one."

Walker has apologized for losing his temper, but he declined to comment on
the episode Sunday, saying, "It's not relevant to what's going on."

The Nets lead the best-of-seven Eastern Conference semifinals 3-0, with Game
4 Monday night in Boston. Walker has struggled in the series, making 15 of
52 field-goal attempts.
