Kedrick/Toronto

and score opportunistically as a last resort when the
captains are unable to. Kedrick's seen two more
offensive-minded "classmates," Johnson and Forte,
shown the door, not to mention Baker's offensive gifts
being unappreciated. The guy is probably scared stiff

Peter, I think you've got it backwards. O'Brien WANTS Kedrick to put up
bad shots -- i.e., 3s, which are clearly out of his range. My biggest
problem with O'Brien is that his offense is so inflexible that he refuses
to play to Kedrick's strengths. Instead of forcing him to stand in the
corner, where he's clearly no threat to anyone, put him on the weak side
block and with instructions to go get everything Walker and Pierce put up
there. Tell him to be Dennis Rodman without the frilly underwear and
makeup (well, at least without the dirty play -- if Kedrick can start
grabbing boards at the rate Rodman did, he can have the frilly underwear
and makeup if he wants).

TAM mentioned the Toronto announcers. Good Lord, what an incompetent
crew. Their team is 20 games under .500, and these guys were acting as
though the game should have been a cakewalk. That all-time NBA great Leo
Rautins spent the entire game yakking about how the Cs were going to
choke. They showed all of Tommy's bias, with none of the entertainment
value and none of the basketball smarts. I'd almost rather spend an
evening listening to the Miami play-by-play guy or the Nets' PA guy.

In any event, I hope this list shows a little love to JR Bremer, Eric
Williams, Grant Long and Mark Blount, all of whom did a great job on a
night when Pierce was out and Walker missed at least 10 shots from
point-blank range.
