The NBA team can only pay $300,000 towards the buyout according to the CBA. If Lampe is going to play for the Knicks next year, he'll have to come up with $1.7 mill out of his own pocket.  I assume that he'll stay overseas for the next couple years if FIBA is right about his contract.
