RE: #56 & latest news
This could be why they were looking at Walton, Derrick Zimmerman, Troy Bell,
Kendrick Perkins, Travis Hansen, but I expect most to go before this
It appears Toronto may have passed on NY's Sprewell offer and they are now
shopping him and the #9 for the #5 pick in a package.
Rumors in the last few days have supposedly had Sacramento offer Bibby and
Dallas offer Nash in packages for Jason Kidd.
I have seen some mocks with Banks moving up in the top 14 and Ridnour
slipping in the 20's.
If we don't move up I could live with us coming out of this draft with two
of:
Sweetney, West, Banks, Ridnour,Pavlovic, Hayes,Beasley
A great article on sleepers. I would love to see Sweetney drop to us at 16.

This mock has some interesting comments

Jay Williams career over? Wouldn't it have been the C's luck to trade for
him then have this happen!

I don't think the #56 pick is worth much, although a body is a body and may
become a bencher; but it's three picks from the bottom--might as well wait
for free agency. I like Ronald Dupree, 6' 7'' wing from LSU, good scorer,
great leaper/rebounder. Or, the better idea, already suggested, to trade
them both for an earlier second pick.
My brain was comparing Songaila to Cook as I awoke. Cook has the better
shot, another inch, and more hops. Yet Sonaila has a better inside game and
more willingness to get after defense and rebounds. I think they will be
about equal in their output, given a chance. Songaila was slated in the
mid-20s last year as Cook is this year. Given the chance at Cook, I'd
rather David West. But talent is often in the eye of the beholder; I still
haven't figured out this whole Haile Berry thing. Cheers, Gene
