Re: Must read Globe

< Today's column by S. Springer is a must-read. > - Tyler

Finally - prescient points from Shira. She and Obie must have finally
hit a snag in their ''relationship.''

A tale of wills ... which one will survive? Danny seems to have all the
right ideas; I just wonder if he will be able to implement them.

No doubt Danny's biggest challenge will come from the classic struggle
of the middle man to pacify both control freak Steve Pagliuca (constantly
whispering into his ear) and the proud, obstinate Obie (who whispers
only to God). What a charmer our Obie is. His wife of ? yrs. still doesn't
know whether he takes his coffee black or with cream. She only knows if
she adds sugar, he scowls.

Not an easy task for Ainge. His first act should have been to rid this team
of Obie's passive-aggressiveness. Too bad if 2nd rate players/worshipers
McCarty, Williams, Walker didn't approve. So get rid of them, too.

I especially find this column enlightening as to the possible volcano that
could (and will?) erupt between Ainge and Obie. Will the proud, stubborn,
win-at-all-costs Obie be willing to change his offensive strategy and
hostile use of rookies to gain favor with boss Ainge?

In the lucky event that Ainge is able to trade Walker (without picking
up a phone of course), by cutting off the Walker head, maybe the Obie
body will die.
