And Doug, that "grief" you speak of fans giving Kobe for not being smart 
enough to avoid that situation in the first place is exactly what I was referring 
to. And regardless of the outcome of the trial, if it gets that far, you 
better believe that the fans won't let him forget about it - assuming he is 
exonerated. And you best also believe that there will be players talking trash to him 
on the court as well.

On the other hand, if he is found guilty, depending upon the length of his 
sentence, fans might not get the opportunity to to "give him grief" for a long
