Couldn't have said it better, Mark. I thought Ainge
was finally showing some prudence by realizing that
McCarty is a nice 8th man on a good team, but has done
nothing over the long run to deserve a multi-year
commitment. Especially with Kedrick and perhaps Hunter
waiting in the wings. If Walt's back next year,
O'Brien will never have to throw Kedrick in the deep
end.

The Hunter stuff seems mystifying. Especially since
the guy they're allegedly thinking of bringing in,
Batiste, is just 6'8, 225. (Here's a link to his

42% shooting, whew, he should fit right in.
