Re: Spurs & Kidd

Does anyone else not get the Spurs push to get Kidd? I mean, yes, Kidd is
the best PG in the game, but Tony Parker is only going to get better and IMO
the Spurs are much more in need of a Center -- Brad Miller, Rasho, etc. If
I'm the Spurs I'm going after 2 PF/C types with all their money. I mean
who's gonna guard Shaq or Malone (whoever Duncan doesn't guard)? I guess
they're gonna rely on Malik Rose.

And what happens to Parker? He's said he's not interested in playing the 2
guard.

If you can get the best PG in the game, you get him. Kidd is also close to
Duncan on a personal level. They could be the cornerstones of a potential
dynasty for a number of years.

Parker can be traded for a developing player, to upgrade another position, a
future draft pick (Which of next years lottery teams might want Parker?) or
some combo of those options. Having tradable talent on the roster shouldn't
become a problem for them.

The Spurs will still have money to add an impact big guy after locking up
Kidd. (I think the income tax issue is interesting in selling to free
agents.)

Add Kidd and even Elden Campbell and your in the WCF next year. Add a real
center and your in the NBA finals for years.
