Some problems with this:


Perkins - is not ready to start in the NBA. he needs to be give time and
worked in slowly. We need a serviceable big body mobile center
Battie - I think battie is better suited for  the 4 spot, but needs to bring
it more consistently
Walker - Needs to drastically improve his shooting. At the 3 you need a
slasher with a perimeter game who can defend. I give him the perimeter
although he needs to show up in crunch time but he can't defend or take it
to the hoop like Pierce can.
Pierce- Can play the 2 or 3 if we have an adequate player at the other spot.
Banks - Only time will tell if he is Baron Davis or Jacque Vaughn



Although I think we need to trade Walker to get better I  am not in favor of
moving him for less than value. But you can look at him two ways as a 20/8
guy or maybe as a 15/8 tweaner who gets more points only because of the
number of shots he is allowed to jack up.

We were all happy with the Antoine that played several positions during the
early years.  Remember he guarded centers and power forwards and did it
well.  However, we are not happy with the Antoine that is playing for
O'Brien. The Antoine that is shooting jumpers and getting out muscled by
Kenyon Martin.

Is it Antoine's or the system's fault?  If Magic Johnson played in a walk it
up the court system as oppose to "show time", how effective would his skills
be utilized.  Ainge has to change the system in order to change Antoine.
Antoine has proved that he can do what we need.

2004 Starters:

Perkins - Center        6 "10"  280 and growing - Rebounder and inside
scorer
Battie -  Power Forward 6 "11"  can guard small and power forwards (shot
blocker)
Antoine - Small Forward 6 "9"   can pass, shoot, and rebound
Pierce  - Two Guard     6 "7"   Too much to list
Banks   - Point Guard   6 "1"   Quicker than Kidd and Tony Parker in running
the break.
