Re: Ainge + Twan and the Knicks.

<< This is a lie? He said the same thing when he was a commentator. <g>
K. Brown does have skills.. Good defender, decent feel for the game, some
pretty nice in close to the hoop moves, and he can take people off the
dribble. Unfortunately guy has NO outside shot. That's killing him right
now, and could drum him out of the league. >> -Pete

Do you really think Danny believes that Toine is a great shooter? As for
Brown, if Danny is so taken with him, how come he is rumored to be in
the act of trading him along with Walker in a package for ... ?

<< He said he wanted a point and post prescence..and thats what he got.
He even leaked that he wanted Banks. If anything I would hope that DA
would be less honest. >> - Pete

I don't recall him ''leaking'' that he wanted Banks (except to Jerry West)
and thought that he actually denied it. Had he pulled off the trades he
was seeking, Banks and Perkins would not be with us now.

<< Yeah...thats a real diss resigning the guy. <g> >> - Pete

Well that's the big contradiction, Pete. Have you been following Ainge's
statements since he extended Obie's contract? If I was Obie I would not
be very happy about a new boss coming in and publicly pronouncing that
he was going to change my entire offense, claiming I relied too much
on the three and too much on two players, saying he felt I hadn't properly
developed our young rookies, pointing out my compulsion to win a few
extra games each season going with veterans at the expense of the future,
questioning whether I would be patient with the 2003 draftees, and
pointing out his displeasure with the conditioning of my players. And how
about Ainge instructing each of the players as to what HE expected of
them next season, and taking the time to hands-on teach Kedrick how to
play Bball (although that may have been more to do with personally
assessing Kedrick prior to a trade).

How could any proud coach not consider these as insults? Obie must
be wondering if he was merely extended as window dressing to appease
his players now that Ainge is, for all practical purposes, our head
coach as well as our GM.

<< That's a huge exaggeration. If DA said something like I am looking to
draft a foreign wing..and doesn't.. That doesn't mean he wasn't LOOKING
to draft the guy. Hardly an out and out lie. Lighten up. It's basketball.
It's seems you FEEL he is dishonest..but have little to back it up.
If for example Scott Layden calls Ainge..that doesn't mean Ainge was
actively trying to trade the Toine.. >> - Pete

I had hoped the few examples I previously gave of Danny's contradictory
acts and statements would have sufficed. His deception has spread far
beyond the expected chess game referred to as the draft. It is, after all,
possible to sidestep specific questions without having to tell outright
lies. Do you really think bundle of energy Ainge is sitting passively by
his phone waiting for others to call with suggested trade proposals for
Walker, Brown, Williams, etc.?

Unpopular as the opinion might be, yes, I do feel that Ainge has been
deceitful in his handling of Obie, Walker, Baker, Brown, the media, and
therefore, the fans. He appears to be on the right track concerning our
team's needs; it is how he is handling it that bothers me. I only hope he
isn't spitting into wells he has to drink from.
