Pierce, Duncan Named Players of the Week
NEW YORK, Jan. 27 -- Boston Celtics forward <A HREF="http://www.nba.com/playerfile/paul_pierce/index.html">Paul Pierce</A> and San Antonio
Spurs forward <A HREF="http://www.nba.com/playerfile/tim_duncan/index.html">Tim Duncan</A> today were named the Eastern Conference and Western
Conference Players of the Week, respectively, for games played Monday, Jan.
20 through Sunday, Jan. 26. Pierce averaged 35.5 points, 8.5 rebounds, 6.3
assists and 3.25 steals per game as the Celtics finished the week with a 3-1
record. He also averaged 13.5 points in the fourth quarter alone for the
week.

Pierce
Duncan averaged 28.3 points, 14.5 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 3.0 blocks in
leading the Spurs to a 3-1 record. Here is a closer look at the week for

Paul Pierce, Boston Celtics
Jan. 20 at Philadelphia -- Posted 40 points, seven rebounds, six assists,
four steals and a block in a 100-99 win over the Sixers.
Jan. 22 vs. Milwaukee -- Recorded 30 points, four rebounds, four assists and
three steals in a 106-97 loss to the Bucks.
Jan. 24 vs. Denver -- Had 45 points, 10 rebounds, three steals and two
assists in a 77-58 win over the visiting Nuggets.
Jan. 26 vs. Orlando -- Recorded his first career triple-double with 27
points, 13 rebounds, a career-high 13 assists and three steals in a 91-83 win
over the Magic.
Tim Duncan, San Antonio Spurs
Jan 20 vs. Houston -- Had 32 points, nine rebounds and four blocks in an
87-82 win over the visiting Rockets.
Jan. 22 vs. Memphis -- Totaled 30 points, 21 rebounds, five assists and four
blocks as the Grizzlies prevailed 98-93 over the Spurs.
Jan. 24 at Utah -- Scored 29 points while adding 17 rebounds, six assists and
three blocks in a 91-90 Spurs win over the Jazz.
Jan. 25 vs. Detroit -- Had 22 points, 11 rebounds in 31 minutes as the Spurs
defeated the Pistons 108-76.
