Celtics tidbits from CBS Sportsline

Neither of these are rumors or anything like that; just suggestions from
their NBA writer, Mike Kahn. The first is one of five trades suggested by
Kahn, the second part is a Bird blurb.

5. Atlanta Hawks <http://cbs.sportsline.com/nba/teams/page/ATL> trade Jason
Terry and Dion Glover to the Boston Celtics
<http://cbs.sportsline.com/nba/teams/page/BOS> for Tony Delk and Kedrick
Brown. Why it will happen: The Celtics need somebody to run the offense, and
even though Terry isn't a natural point guard, he does make plays and gets
teams into an offense. The Hawks aren't thrilled with having to deal with
the end of his contract this summer, so the move would alleviate that
problem and Delk could suffice while developing Dan Dickau as their future
point guard and Brown as their shooting guard in the wake of DerMarr
Johnson's car accident. Why it won't happen: The Celtics personnel
department loved Brown's athleticism and are waiting for a chance to prove
he was worthy of a lottery pick and Terry is the only legitimate scorer in
the Atlanta backcourt. Conclusion : Both teams need to do something to alter
the present state of affairs, but it may not be until the draft in June.

The group that applied to purchase the Charlotte expansion team -- led by
Larry Bird and Steve Belkin -- is apparently looking into buying the
Milwaukee Bucks from Sen. Herb Kohl. But it still makes more sense for the
Boston money people that ludicrously overpaid for the Celtics in the fall to
offer Bird a piece of the action and make him team president.
