Celtics C Wolkowyski undergoes appendectomy

BOSTON (Ticker) - Boston Celtics reserve forward Ruben Wolkowyski 
underwent an appendectomy Saturday morning and will be sidelined 
at least three weeks.

After being diagnosed with acute appendicitis, Wolkowyski had the 
surgery at New England Baptist Hospital.  The successful procedure 
was performed by team physician Dr. Arnold Scheller and Dr. Stephen 
Camer.

Wolkowyski will be hospitalized overnight and released Sunday. 
He is expected to miss three to four weeks.

The 6-10, 275-pound Wolkowyski was signed as a free agent 
during the offseason.  A native of Argentina, he has scored five 
points in seven games, playing just once since December 14.
