Last ten games -Long

I'm sure many of you read this article in the Herald today.

I thought I'd take Bulpetts piece a step futher and show the team stats for
the last ten games.
I tried to clean them up a bit, but just in case this turns out unreadable,
here is the URL: <A

Some things that caught my eye:

Pierce- Shot close to 50%
Shot 37% from three...still not up to his career average.
3 pt attempts were down to a very reasonable 4.3 a game.
Shot 86% from the foul line.
            Negatives- Technicals and the ejection.

Walker- Antoine has really not played well across the board.
His shooting percentages are all down even from earlier this
season.
Of his 114 attempts, 52 of them have been three pointers. That's
46% of his
total shots. That could explain why he's only been to the line
14 times in
            six games.
Rebounds are down dramatically, even though he had one good
rebounding
            game in that stretch.
One offensive rebound in six games?
His tendex per 48 minutes is a sickly 12.97- 8th on the team.
I know this sounds like I'm picking on Antoine but it's not on
purpose. I'm
looking for something positive to add here, but I just can't find
anything.
Perhaps it's the smaller statistical pool (6 games compared to
10) or maybe
            it's the knee.

Our points- Bremer, Delk and Williams have all been up and down.
Bremer seems to have lost his shot. Williams seems to have temporarily found
his. Bremer's beating the rest in the assists category...5.5 per 48 min.
Bremer and Delk do a good job of taking care of the ball, but that's not to
be unexpected since they really aren't asked to do a lot. Bremers doing a
decent job of getting to the line. Surprisingly Delks tendex rating is the
worst of the bunch and Shammond Williams per 48 tendex is head and shoulders
above the others, third best on the team.

Eric Williams- Eric is fourth on the team in shot attempts the last
10 games with 69, yet, only 8 of those were three pointers!! Wow! As a
result he has gotten to the line almost 4X's a game. That may not sound like
much, but for the Celtics it's really good. His rebounding has been pretty
good, and his offensive rebounding has been very good. I have been one of
Eric's doubters. I still don't think he is nearly the defensive player
O'Brien makes him out to be. But Eric has been playing his role very
effectively this season, especially recently.

Battie- Tony has a tendex rating of 12.9 and 48 min tendex of
23.66, both second only to Pierce. His 7.2 rpg are also second to Pierce,
but taken to 48 minutes he leads the team at a very good 13.3. He also leads
the team in offensive rebounds and offense rebounds per 48 min. Not
surprisingly he leads the team in blocks and his 53% shooting is second on
the team during this stretch. We are a much better team with a healthy Tony
Battie. Lets hope he gets over all these little illnesses of his and that
his knee can hold out till the end of the season.

McCarty- Although it isn't included in these stats, I read
elsewhere that Walter leads the league in percentage of three pointers taken
per shot at 0.625 (2.8 / 4.4).
Delk and Bremer were also in the top ten. Shammond was 20th.
Surprise!
It's hard to argue with Walters results. McCarty's had some big shots from
the corner this season. His over all fg% isn't anything to write home about
during this stretch, but his 3pt% is second only to Shammond. His turnovers
are a little high for the number of times he touches the ball. His rebounds
are only average.

Baker- I'll take a page from the local media. What a nice guy.
That's it.

Brown, Grant & Sundov- Hardly worth talking about considering the
minutes they've gotten.
